Struggle

Art is a struggle to bring an idea into concrete and tangible form. When you value a work of art, you believe in its idea and struggle with that idea as the artist did. You make the idea your own.

Art has value and money has value, so purchasing a work art is an exchange of value. But when art is seen as purely a commodity, its true intent and potency are compromised.
