Thought for the day

We all have hidden lives, which are not built only on the unspoken and the unspeakable in us. There are memories submerged, re-imagined and masquerading as reality. There are smells and sounds and tastes and touches that bob on the surface and only allude to what lay deep . There are the experiences of childhood for which there was not yet the language to begin to build memories. There are the things said to us and done to us that take root, spread in us even as we forget them, and flower in our actions.

We are forever mysteries to ourselves, never to be solved, no matter how many clues are given in what we say or do.

Thought for the day

When I want to be astounded, I keep coming back to a fact I once read: the United States is 5% of the world's population, but we consume 20% of the world's resources. China and India have about half the world's population. What happens when then begin to reach the level of development of the United States? Do the math.

Thought for the day

The Almighty (or whoever it was) mad them male and female. Now we recognize that it was not the male and female genders, but the male and female principles that exist in all of us in various proportions. So our task is not gender ego, but healthy balance of these principles.

Take every object you own, put it on a chain and hang it around your neck.
You can't move.
Take every good thing you've ever done, and put it in your heart.
You'll fly.

Exciting new marketing campaigns in the American landscape

AMERICAN ACADEMY OF LIPOSUCTION has launched a new program to help obese people feel good about themselves and at the same time help the environment. All liposuction physicians will provide free delivery of all liposuctioned fat to a local processing facility to be turned into biofuel.

Says Dr. Hugo Lickman, “ We have a great resource obese Americans. They will feel good about giving back after taking so much.”

Could NIKE’S marketing ever get any better? Yes. A new marketing strategy will give a $10,000 prize to the man between 21 and 35 who can reach the highest testosterone level from just looking a Nike swoosh.

Dick Slickman, Nike representative, said, “We wanted to make the winner the quickest to get boner, but the legal department squashed that in a second.”

Thought for the day

Pay attention.

Let's Tango

Let’s Tango

Put on that sweet black dress
Spike heels and black net stockings
I’ll wear black as well
And a silk shirt
We’ll glide as on a breeze,
No, more like a gust
Of passion
Our bodies trusting
Eyes locked in a caress
Dancing, as if the music’s story
Was our own.

1000 Cranes

1000 Cranes

Are not enough to fill the skies
Or wipe out memories of the
Dead millions
Or provide the feathers
That stones and shells require
Or convince that life is
Or diminish the assault on
Or make you love me.
