In his State of the Union speech, Donald Trump treated all
those watching to a trip to Disneyland, a place where there was only happiness,
joy and superlatives. There was much applause and happy faces inside the Magic
Castle. Invited guests were given free prizes, and there were many
2-dimensional mascots—Melania, and the two Mikes, for example—to give out hugs.
There was a trip to Frontierland—Davey Crockett, Wyatt Earp
and the Alamo. And even a trip to Fantasyland, where Rush Limbaugh got the
Presidential Medal of Freedom. Best of all, this happy world was open to all,
as long as they had the financial means to pay the entrance fees.
I know after his speech, millions of Americans were soothed,
and all thoughts of gun violence, drug addiction, poverty, racism,
anti-Semitism and sexism simply floated away.
