Senate impeachment

This is what I sent to Senator Rob Portman.

Whatever has occurred in the impeachment process in the House is over. The trial moves to the Senate, where you will take an oath that will test your integrity and impartiality as a senator. This oath is not an oath to the Republican Party. It is to the Constitution and to the American people.

We’ve already seen Republican and Democratic senators rush to judgment, doing exactly what House Democrats were accused of doing. I strongly urge you not to be one of those. Commit to your oath, support a fair trial, listen with an open mind and vote your conscience.
