Drowning

If you are a decent, thinking person, you feel drowned by all the violence, sexual abuse, income inequality, war crimes, poverty, hunger and mental illness that come at us in the news each day. You like to think the world is basically good, filled with good people. But then, why are hate and evil so easy to root and spread?

You want to do something, something big maybe, but you are paralyzed by the sheer size of the problem. Does that make you a part of the problem? You think that maybe what we really need is a savior. Then you think, wait a minute, we’ve already had a Savior. And…

Then you open your third bottle of beer. You’ll think about this tomorrow.
