Follow your bliss. These are the wise words of Joseph Campbell.
But how can they have meaning for the billions of people whose life energy each
day is committed simply to survival? After a great deal of struggle, luck and
courage, a few might find a way to bliss, but most feel lucky to just have a
job, a meal and a family.
Still, bliss itself is not skipping joyfully through
LaLaLand. Campbell’s bliss takes effort, takes courage. Bliss takes work to
hold onto. Bliss is the reward for this work, and brings understanding of what
it means to be truly human.
