So what

How could nothing become something?

How could the slight imbalance between matter and anti-matter produce everything that matters?

How could you be the consequence of the one swimmer who beat the other 300,000,000?

How could that not be glorious?

So what are you doing about it?

Strange arrow

Art is a strange arrow. The deeper it penetrates the more it heals.

Ladies and gentlemen

Ladies and gentlemen.

It is my pleasure to introduce someone who lies with impunity. Someone who has no humility and no soul. A man who takes pride in his ability to bully and demean people. A man who leads by dishonesty and coercion. This man’s resume contains racist acts, sexual impropriety, misuse of charitable funds and failed businesses.

Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome the President of the United States.

Wake-up call

An emergency room nurse works long, hard hours giving all she has to save lives.

A police officer works in a dangerous area daily with frequent life-threatening incidents as part of the job.

A mentally ill man uses every resource he can command to survive on the streets with almost no help

A charity worker gives 30 years of his life to the poor, taking almost no vacations from the work.

A soldier lives under siege in the hot desert, dodging land mines and surface fire.

A nun well into her 70’s ministers to orphan children.

The President of the United States golfs every weekend, living in his narcissistic bubble of self-superlatives, “perfect” decisions and twisted truths.

That’s a wake-up call in my book.

Isn't it obvious

Isn’t it obvious?
The time is right for more hugs, of the tight-squeeze type
For unabashed love, but not like the Hallmark Channel
For sweet little kisses on the cheek
For juicy affirmations
And the unexpected chocolate or single rose
For “Yes, sir” and “Yes m’am”
For trying an occasional kiss on the hand
For some old-fashioned civility
An apology, even if it hurts
And some mush if it’s required
