Wild evolution

Evolution has created a wild, raucous, diverse and surprising world of ling things. It won’t ever stop on its own, and humans are a part of that. We have the benefit of a thinking, rational mind that is order and organization, science and the arts.  This is the “this is how it should be” view of the world. But there is also the “is what it is” view of the world. This world is unpredictable, absurd, erratic, violent, fear-inducing, magical and a partner in defining what the capacity of the human being is.

We let these two world views fight it out in the arenas of war, sex and love, for example. We take sides, and so never see the full picture. We assume we know right from wrong, and so never see the possibility of a healthy synergy or of mutual respect for the other.
