I don't want to leave

I don’t want to leave
I’m waiting for the humming bird to feed
For the canas lily to burst open
I’ll sit here
Because the yellow finch will soon sip from the bird bath
And the robin shimmy itself clean there
Why even move
When the milkweed is exploding
Its seeds with silken parachutes
I’m still
As the sun lights up the leaves of the castor plant
And the squirrel with the blond tail scampers
No rush at all
If I want I can even sit

And watch the grass grow
