Please explain this to me. The militia clause of the Second
Amendment seems all but discarded in discussions of gun control and in judicial
rulings regarding the Second Amendment.
Answer these questions. What is the 21st century
version of a “well regulated” militia? Who regulates this militia, calls it
together and under what circumstances? What are the responsibilities of gun
owners as part of such a militia? Can gun rights be infringed for other than
relationships to a militia? Why isn’t this militia clause discussed as a part
of every gun control debate?
Ask your elected representatives these questions. Demand
answers. That’s what I’m doing.
