In Art and Physics, Leonard Schlain says, “Because the erosion of images by words occurs at such an early age, we forget that in order to learn something radically new, we need first to imagine it.”
This is clearly evidenced in most educational curricula from elementary school through college. It is also evidenced in the place fine art is given in contemporary culture.
The only person who can change this is the artist: visible, engaged, open and vocal.
