Life flows much more smoothly if you engage reality as it is
and not as you think it should be. Building life actions on a delusion doesn’t
work. It doesn’t work in the big world of reality or in the little world of
your personal interactions.
We’ve seen its lessons in Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan. And
in the American South of slavery. We see it every day in our frustrations at
people who are being themselves and not who we want them to be. We see it in
the children we mold by expectations and not by love.
The people who see reality for what it is are the people who
can change it, while the others continue to bang their heads against the wall.
