Innocence

One thing that makes me sad is that today’s young people will never experience the world as innocent. They will be infected with their parents’ fear of murder, abduction, disease, suicide, mental health issues, poverty and homelessness. As culture continues shine its light on everything human, good and bad, innocence seems a forgotten experience.
As the hot sun of misery and brutality burns down, sitting in the shade of innocence, daydreaming and imagining a better world seems more and more necessary. Innocence can often be hard to find; but when we do find it, we realize it is not weakness. It has real and engaging power.
