Like so many religious and political conflicts in the world
today, the Israeli/Palestinian conflict is an endlessly festering mess. Peace
is not a dream, but a delusion, because there is no give and take. Israel has
and deserves its sovereign state, and Palestinians don’t have and deserve a
homeland. Incursions, settlements, walls, fences, tunnels, terrorism and
politics all work against peace.
At this point, though, it’s a David and Goliath situation.
Palestinians trapped with few resources and little hope and Israel with an
effective military, nuclear weapons and international support seem to guarantee
that this time Goliath will be the victor.
