METOO/MENTOO

#METOO continues to gain momentum as a powerful movement in both America and the world. Maybe I haven’t been listening hard enough, but it’s discouraging to me that there don’t seem to be enough male voices in support of this movement.
There’s still too much male machismo, too many weaponized penises, too many tales where only big biceps and chiseled abs can save the world. Today’s NY Times story about the Washington Redskins cheerleaders’ photo shoot in Costa Rica begins to seem more like the norm than the exception.
I, for one, want to see more stories about dads fully involved in the lives of their children, more stories about men like James Shaw, Jr., more stories about men who respect themselves enough to respect women.
