There is no one thing that can make America strong and vital and make its citizens capable and productive but an educational system that provides a good education for every child. The foundation of that is the teacher.
When students struggle, teachers are there.
When the classroom budget is shaky, teachers are there.
When parents fail, teachers are there.
When students need a trusted mentor, teachers are there.
When there are school shooters, teachers are there.
When parents want to control the classroom, teachers are there.
When parents want to ban books, teachers are there.
When students are experiencing mental health problems, teachers are there.
When students need a moral compass, teachers are there.
When students need to feel valued, teachers are there.
But now teachers are overworked, underpaid and expected to deal with school violence, student mental health, excessive testing and more. What do we do
