The Second Amendment has put us at war with ourselves. There are more guns than people, and people have them. More guns of kinds insanely beyond any needs for hunting or self-protection. The people we should trust with guns, law enforcement, we trust less and less. Gun battles on the streets, in homes and businesses have become daily routines. Legislators don't even bother to express their sympathy anymore. Money and politics render them impotent. In truth, any of us could be shot to death anywhere, anytime.
