Diversity

 We embrace variety and diversity in the botanical world. We embrace variety and diversity in the animal world. We even embrace variety and diversity in the insect world.

But in our own world of the human species, we fear variety and diversity—in race, in ethnicity, in religious practice, in behavior, in sexual practice, in all of it. This is a stubborn and destructive reality that we can’t seem to let go of.

Why? We’ve been trying to figure that out for a long time. But for a start, make friends with an artist.
