A report in the news recently indicated that the Boy Scout
of America is considering filing for bankruptcy. Maybe it’s a sign of the times,
or its the handling of homosexual issues or its that the girls want in.
But I’ve known a number of excellent young men who were
Eagle Scouts. And even though I was an absolutely mediocre Boy Scout, I had a
lot of worthwhile experiences, and I am still trustworthy, loyal, helpful,
friendly, courteous, kind, obedient (well maybe not that one), cheerful,
thrifty, brave, clean and reverent.
It would be a shame if the Boy Scouts of America simply
faded into the sunset.
