Orgasm
Did evolution invent it? Or God? Or maybe they worked it out
together. We know what evolution intended, but God is another matter. It’s a
gift for pretty much everyone to use as they please, though some try hard to
police this most natural pleasure.
It’s greatest potency—and urgency—is reached when the brain
is not yet in full decision making mode--a sometimes troublesome quirk of human
development. Still, it’s an astonishing thing, driving the motives of all of us
in ways we rarely talk about.
It’s as individual an experience in its style and vocabulary
as any other form of personal expression. Some are judicious about it, others
lust for it. It’s one of the most human of things, yet one of the most secretive
of human experiences. It, at times, can be a tool of love, or dominance, or anger,
or hormones or comfort. But, in the end, it’s just a function of the body’s
complex beauty.
