Through television, the Internet and print media, we have
access to incredible amounts of news, information and commentary. But it’s all
really useless without a citizenry of curious critical thinkers.
Sadly, our educational system, even up through undergraduate
education, is not producing this kind of citizenry. We are too easily duped, manipulated
and scammed, young and old.
We need to value reading, thinking and evaluating and to seek the support in
doing these well.
