When Sarah Huckabee Sanders says that Donald Trump has done
nothing wrong, she simply means with his cadre of high-profile and highly paid
lawyers, he has managed to avoid breaking any laws.
Of course, this has nothing to do with his immoral and unethical
behavior, which is blatant. But as the majority of spineless Republicans indicate,
the law is the yardstick of acceptability and dancing around the law can be a
measure of success.
This attitude has sadly filtered down to state and local
levels. All of us have flaws, and public officials are allowed them, too. But
egregious behavior, aggressively covered up, should never be acceptable.
