We’d like to believe that our instinctive responses to the world around us would be characterized by compassion, honesty, forgiveness and love. Yet we’ve created a society which is too violent and too inequitable, a society which encourages us toward excess consumption, superficiality, fear, selfishness. We feel anxious and not secure.
It’s hard to know how this happened. We’re all complicit. Where do we go from here?
