Lenten reflection #8
Take Jesus’ story completely literally and you may struggle to believe; but take it metaphorically and you are lifted in belief at the humanity of the story. The baptism, the crowds, the spectacle, the miracles, the test of faith, the meal, the garden, the betrayal, the death, the resurrection, all have message and meaning in our human lives. To me, this is the way to hear this story and make it our own.
