Love

 Recently, I wrote that we’ve maligned the word “fuck.” But the same thing is true of the word “love.” We equate it with romance. We use it to sell cars and hamburgers. We wrap it in flowers and candy at Valentine’s Day. We make it cute, and we say we love movies and sushi. We say it more than we show it.

How often in the discussion or actions of love do we consider duty, loyalty, sacrifice, compassion, persistence. Easy love is where we start. Authentic love is what we grow into with practice and character. Instead of saying, “I love you,” say, “I love you, and this is how I’ll show it.”
