Conscience

I think every large organization—government, corporation, religion—needs to have a dedicated VP for Conscience. Maybe this could help to circumvent some of the corruption, greed and abuse of power that plagues us. Watchdogs are not enough; they just concern themselves with the law.

Conscience is built from experience, thoughtful consideration and ethical and consistent action. Most of us have not lived by our consciences at every turn. But when our consciences challenge us, at least we know we have one.

Many believe that following ideology is following conscience. But conscience is often above law and beyond ideology.
