Character and leadership

The campaigns have already begun for President of the United States. The media, as usual, will look for missteps in the public lives of the candidates and dwell on them to make news. The candidates will try to woo voters based on particular demographics or issues.

But in the end, the President must be the President of all the people and the decision maker on all the issues. This is why everyone should, but few will, scrutinize each candidate on the basis character and leadership.

What has been the consistent evidence of good character? What have been the proven examples of effective leadership? How have the combination of character and leadership been the synergistic path to success in life and public service?
