Art opening etiquette:
Don’t block others’ view of the artwork.
Don’t just congratulate the artist. Say something
meaningful.
Look at the exhibit before you consume alcohol and eat snacks.
Don’t form chit-chat clusters that block the flow of the
exhibit.
Give the work in the exhibit some thoughtful time.
If you only came for the food, drink and socializing, go to
the exhibit again later.
If you are the artist, be pro-active in helping people
engage the art.
Think of the opening as an aesthetic experience not a social
experience.
