Time

The past, present, future and eternity are not separate things. They are all aspects of the mystery of time. The past, in history and memory, invades and penetrates the present. The present tries to rid itself of the burden of its past at the same time it glorifies it. The present both fears and dreams of the future, knowing it will become the future’s past. The future is born from the womb of the present.

The present is the only place we can live, but it’s a tightrope off which we can easily fall, unproductively into the past or dreaming into the future.

All the while, eternity is everywhere. It’s the end of all we yearn for. It wraps the universe in mystery. It’s ever present if only we have the presence to see. It’s the place where time stands still and all is one.
