Decency
Morality, ethics and religion give us many
admirable characteristics to aim for in our lives. But, for me, the most
reliably useful is decency. Decency is ordinary in its goodness. Decency is not
an arrogant virtue. Decency is the virtue of the unsung hero, the individual
going about living life with a purpose that embraces the self and others.
Decency accepts the human stumble and enables forgiving the self and others by
getting up and continuing to live a life of good.
