Great again?

Children worry about being shot in school.

Suicides and mass shootings are regular tragedies.

The international community laughs at us or questions our friendship.

Our President is a liar and a bully.

Citizens act out of fear, not compassion.

Bigotry is blatant.

Too many leaders are corrupt.

Congress is impotent, sloshing in the muck.

The swamp is draining the integrity of those who’ve come there.

Is this the America that is great again?

But there is hope in the young people who have become socially and politically active, in the new legislators of color and who are women, in the old who are inspired by the young and by those seeing past party loyalty to follow their consciences.
