When I was a child, I was taught the mantra: “Sticks and
stones may break my bones, but names will never hurt me.” This would be good
advice for current politicians to take. The Harris/Biden exchanges and now the
Trump/ female freshmen Congresswomen exchanges continue to create a feeding
frenzy for the news media.
In the long run, though, they are of little meaning. The
task of these Democratic women politicians—and all Democratic candidates—is to
demonstrate how Trump’s is a failed presidency. How the American citizenry is
not better off and how America is faltering.
Moderate Republicans and evangelical Christians have to see
that they have given up their integrity and dignity to support Trump. Democrats
have to convince voters that their beliefs and programs can truly change lives
for the better.
