How often do we encounter a person and instinctively react to them through the lens of one stereotype or another: race, class, religion, ethnicity or the like? It often feels safer, but is also habitual and destructive.
One solution is to just first see them as human: with the same family struggles, life issues, aspirations and human needs as you have. Not always easy, but worth a try.
