Black History Month
We continue to confront the implications and consequences of slavery. But we must realize that this horror was the result of the economic requirement of cheap (free) labor. Profit and financial comfort, and even excess, for the few and products for the many made slavery acceptable.
Slavery needs to be seen in the context of the building of the pyramids, the enslavement of indigenous peoples, the feudal system, the peasantry, sex slavery, sweat shops and more.
Black history is really everyone’s history.
