Thought for the day

It's strange to me that any rebel or splinter group or small revolutionary army can manage to get ahold of some of the most sophisticated weapons in the world. Whatever the ideology or validity of the cause they can terrorize and kill often with impunity. These wars are always on the radar of American foreign policy. We decry the deaths and take a side.

At home there are increasing numbers of guns and gun owners, armed in parks, bars and churches. Are we at war? Do we need de facto citizen militias? Why aren't we as vocally concerned about our daily suicide numbers or black on black deaths as we are about civilians killed by random bombings?
